Pokemon is a fairly loveable idea. That said, Pokemon Tower Defense? This game’s certainly different from whatever you might expect through the title. You won’t exactly be slinging out Charizard’s Flamethrower or Squirtle’s Water Gun. Instead, the game revolves around an easy concept. You possess Pokemon, which you place in designated slo-ts throughout the map. Evil pokemon stream down to steal and carry back pokemon candy. You move your pokemon around these sl-ots as it flings itself repeatedly to strike the aggressors.
It’s a decent concept, however the execution is sadly lacking. The art style is a bit jarring – gradients combined with pixelated Gameboy-style sprites. The specific animations within the tower defense gameplay are almost nonexistent, and the whole “gotta-catch-em -all” gameplay of clickergames.in doesn’t layer adequately into this game. While there IS promise, it’s not tapped well. And annoyingly, there’s a login/signup system – you need to give your email before you decide to play.
The best part will be the story, which is told via cutscenes that get you to the likes of Pokemon LeafGreen and can genuinely make a Pokemaniac smile. They believe a lttle bit such as a rushed Flash rendering based upon 89dexrpky standard Pokemon intro. As usual, there’s an evil team wreaking havoc – even though text isn’t presented such as the original Gameboy games, it seems like more attention was made available to the cutscenes compared to actual gameplay. The general impression is of the game haphazardly thrown together. However, it’s totally worth playing only if you appreciate scarymaze.in and tower defense games. 7 out of 10.
